Souvenir Shop Spaces Open for Lease at Bhutan’s National Museums

The Museums of Bhutan has announced a new opportunity for businesses and artisans to lease souvenir shop spaces at two of the country’s most prominent cultural sites: the National Museum of Bhutan and the Royal Heritage Museum.

According to the Museum Division under the Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development, the initiative aims to promote authentic Bhutanese craftsmanship while enhancing visitor experiences at these historic locations. The leased spaces will allow businesses to showcase and sell traditional products, providing a platform for local artisans to reach both domestic and international tourists.

Officials highlighted that the program is part of a broader effort to support cultural preservation and sustainable economic development in Bhutan. By integrating retail opportunities within museum spaces, authorities hope to create a vibrant cultural marketplace that reflects the nation’s rich heritage.

Interested applicants can obtain further details and submit inquiries through the Museum Division office in Thimphu or directly contact the respective museums in Paro and Trongsa.

The initiative is expected to attract entrepreneurs interested in promoting Bhutanese arts and crafts while contributing to the country’s growing tourism and cultural sectors.
