The Museum Youth Council (MYC) of the Royal Heritage Museum, Trongsa, convened its second formal session at the Museum Education Room, engaging young ambassadors in hands-on museology practices and long-term program planning.
Designed as an immersive, skill-building workshop, the gathering moved beyond formal committee discussions, immersing council members directly in the core disciplines of heritage stewardship: conservation handling, collections cataloguing, and participatory curatorial design.

The interactive curriculum centered on three key technical and strategic modules facilitated by museum specialists:
Artifact Care & Safe Handling: Led by the Conservator Assistant, council members completed a foundational workshop on preventive conservation. The practical module emphasized the material ethics, physical vulnerabilities, and safety protocols essential when handling historic and sacred cultural objects.
Collections Cataloguing & Object Description: Conducted by the Assistant Curator, this session demystified accession workflows. Participants learned how museum professionals systematically examine, document, describe, and register artifacts to preserve cultural provenance and provenance records.
Forward Strategic Planning: Facilitated by the Head of the Museum, the final segment reviewed upcoming institutional programming while charting the MYC’s active role in co-designing and executing future youth-led museum initiatives.

The structured training concluded with an informal dialogue over traditional tea and momos at the Museum Café, offering members and professional curators a relaxed setting to exchange perspectives, brainstorm future outreach concepts, and strengthen peer bonds.
By grounding youth council members in authentic museum operational workflows, the Royal Heritage Museum continues to build a sustainable pipeline of informed, impassioned young cultural stewards across the Kingdom.
