WHAT

National Museum of Bhutan (Paro) and Royal Heritage Museum (Trongsa) and Ta -Dzong Trashigang reimagined as “spaces of healing” - Healing artworks (indoor and outdoors).

  • Paro - New conference venue & exhibition gallery; botanical garden with meditation pavilions with a pathway down to Paro Dzong.
  • Trongsa- Ecological Corridor & Nature Reserve for Migratory Birds.
  • Trashigang - New archaeological site & regenerative fruit forest that provides food security for the region.

Healing Programs at the museums

  • Museotherapy: guided art encounters, and purpose-built restorative spaces
  • Purpose-built meditation spaces and Himalayan sensory gardens
  • Hands-on cultural practices — painting, mandala creation, textiles, incense — that rebuild focus, agency, and emotional calm
  • Nature-integrated experiences: Bhutan botanics , forest bathing, outdoor meditation

Moving "beyond walls"

The National Museum of Bhutan and the Royal Heritage Museum were former watchtowers.

From "Watchtower" to "Sanctuaries of Healing"

In the past: The Ta-Dzongs were fortresses to protect Bhutan against external invaders

Now: They protect people against 21st-century invaders (stress, isolation, and digital fatigue.) as the world feels unstable.
